crickex owner Cricket Betting — Complete Guide to Reading Odds for T20, ODI and Test Matches
From BPL to IPL, T20 World Cup to Test series — crickex owner lets you bet on every format of cricket. On this page you will find popular betting markets, how to read odds, and how live in-play betting works.
Cricket's three formats and how betting differs across them
Understanding formats is important for cricket betting, because T20, ODI and Test each have a different pace of play, which means different odds and markets. At crickex owner you can bet on all three formats as well as BPL (Bangladesh Premier League), IPL (Indian Premier League) and ICC international tournament matches.
T20
The fastest format — just 20 overs. BPL and IPL are played in this format. Live betting is most popular here because results arrive quickly. Odds shift after every over.
ODI
In this 50-over format, strategy plays a bigger role. The ICC World Cup and bilateral series are played as ODIs. Odds can change significantly at the innings break.
Test
This 5-day format is the most traditional. A draw is a valid result, so there are three betting options. In a long match, pitch conditions and weather influence the odds.
Football and others
crickex owner also offers betting on football and other sports. Football matches last 90 minutes and the odds structure is different from cricket — especially after a live goal, when changes happen very fast.
What betting markets look like in BPL and IPL
BPL is a tournament of particular interest to cricket fans in Bangladesh. crickex owner keeps multiple betting markets open for every BPL and IPL match — from before the first ball to after the last.
Cricket has more markets than football. In a single T20 match you can bet on match winner, toss, top run scorer, total runs over/under, and much more. Football typically focuses on match result, number of goals and whether both teams will score.

Popular betting markets in cricket
The markets below are used most often for cricket betting at crickex owner. A simple explanation of each is provided.
Match Winner
Bet on which of the two teams will win. In T20 and ODI there are only two options (Team A or Team B); in Test matches a third option — "Draw" — is also available. Example: if Team A wins, your bet on Team A is successful.
Toss Winner
Which team will win the toss before the match starts. This has no direct link to the match result, so odds are usually about equal for both teams. Example: if Team B wins the toss, a toss bet on Team B is successful.
Top Run Scorer
Bet on which batsman will score the most runs in an innings or the full match. This market usually lists a team's leading batsmen. Example: if you pick a batsman from Team A and they score more runs than anyone else, you win the bet.
Total Runs — Over/Under
Bet on whether the total runs in an innings will be above (over) or below (under) a set number. Example: if the line is 165 runs, an over bet requires more than 165 runs, and an under bet requires fewer than 165.
First Wicket Fall — Runs
Whether the batting team's first wicket will fall above or below a set run total. Example: if the line is 25 runs, an under bet wins if the first wicket falls before the score reaches 25.
Multi Bet
Place multiple selections from multiple matches in a single bet. All selections must be correct to win. Example: if you pick Team A, Team B and Team A as winners in three separate matches, all three must be right — one wrong selection and the whole bet is lost. A detailed multi bet calculation is in the odds section below.
Handicap
The weaker team is given a notional run advantage. Example: if Team B is given a 15-run handicap, a handicap bet on Team B wins if the final margin is fewer than 15 runs.
How odds are written in three formats
Betting sites display odds in three ways — decimal, fractional and American. At crickex owner you can choose the format you prefer. All three express the same probability; only the way they are written differs.
| Format | Team A (underdog) | Team B (favourite) |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 2.50 | 1.50 |
| Fractional | 3/2 | 1/2 |
| American | +150 | -200 |
Example 1 — bet on Team A to win (৳200 stake)
If Team A wins: decimal 2.50 × ৳200 = ৳500 returned (৳300 profit + ৳200 original stake). If Team A loses, ৳200 is lost.
Example 2 — bet on Team B (favourite) to win (৳200 stake)
Decimal 1.50 × ৳200 = ৳300 returned (৳100 profit). In American format, -200 means you need to stake ৳200 to make ৳100 profit if Team B wins.
Multi bet calculation
Three selections at decimal 1.40 × 1.50 × 1.60 = 3.36 (approximately). A ৳100 stake returns ৳336 if all selections are correct. If any one selection is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost.
The figures above are examples only — they are not live odds or a promise of winnings. In real matches, odds change continuously.
How odds shift when a wicket falls and after each over
Live in-play betting means placing bets in real time while the match is in progress. In cricket, every event affects the odds:
- Wicket falls: when the batting team loses a wicket, their odds of winning shorten and the bowling team's odds lengthen.
- Big over: if 15 or more runs are scored in an over, the batting team's odds improve.
- After the powerplay: in ODI and T20, odds are reset once the powerplay ends.
- Innings break: after the first innings score is known, odds change completely at the start of the second innings.
- Final overs: in the last 2–3 overs, odds move quickly based on the runs still required.
Before placing in-play bets, read the Responsible Gaming guidelines on betting responsibly.
Useful tips for beginners
Cricket betting is for entertainment — it is not a guaranteed way to earn money. Keeping the following tips in mind will make the experience more manageable.
Start with one market
Begin by betting only on the match winner market. Rather than trying to understand all markets at once, build experience with one.
Set a budget in advance
Decide how much you will stake per match or per week before you start, and stick to that limit.
Choose markets that suit the format
In-play betting works well in T20 because the match changes quickly. For Test matches, longer-term markets are more suitable.
Compare odds
Look at the odds across different markets for the same match. Be aware that betting on a favourite with low odds will give a lower return.
